Marty grew up in Marion, North Carolina, where his formative years were filled with a deep connection to the outdoors. He spent countless hours hunting, fishing, and exploring McDowell, Burke, and the neighboring counties in western NC.
A chapter of Marty’s life saw him serving as a dedicated serviceman in the 2nd Battalion, 120th Infantry Army National Guard, a unit that was attached to the 4th Infantry Division located in Colorado Springs, CO. In 1983, his path led him to move to Morganton and in 2000, Marty along with his wife Karen, built a home on beautiful Lake James where they still reside today.
Marty worked in the automotive industry for 38 years. During the many years spent there, he held multiple professional roles. The facility started out as Dana Corporation in 1978. It was sold in the early 2000’s to Sypris Technologies and finally purchased in 2015 by Meritor, Inc. and today is called Cummins – Meritor. He was able to retire in January of 2022
In addition to working full time at Meritor, Marty owned Revis Home Management. He managed several family vacation homes on Lake James.
Marty has had the privilege of volunteering his time to a local charity, the Casting for Hope organization. Casting for Hope is dedicated to aiding women contending with gynecological cancer, a cause deeply resonant with Marty and his wife, both cancer survivors themselves.
Marty and Karen searched for many years trying to find a mountain property to enjoy with their children and grandchildren. In December of 2021 that dream became reality when they found a realtor to help them find the perfect place. Now as Realtor, Marty aspires to accompany you on your journey, whether it’s finding your first home or finally finding the property you have dreamed of for many years. Whatever your plans, Marty would be happy to help you take that next step in your future!
